Holiday Photo Shoot

I took Kira to Sears to take some belated photos for Christmas / New Years since she either had a cold or a pacifier rash for most of December. Here are some of my favorite shots!

First Family Christmas at Home

Here's our front entryway, looking in the living room.

Our first Christmas together as a family of three! All of us were under the weather for most of December, and Christmas Day unfortunately was no exception. The runny noses were back, but luckily Jon's pneumonia was gone. Still, we had a very enjoyable Christmas and presents galore! Kira really took an interest in unwrapping presents and playing with the paper.

She also really seems to enjoy the tree and for the most part, doesn't try to rip off any ornaments. In fact, she likes to gently take the ornaments off at the bottom (which are meant for her) and then put them back on. We have two trees: one in the living room and one in the family room.

Kira especially likes to play with the jingle bell ornaments that I got for her, and when she is done shaking them, she likes to place them on the lower branches of the tree. She's a little decorator and helper already! Currently the jingle bells also function as a great distraction during diaper changes, which have become increasingly more active!

My favorite present is the laptop Jon got me (us), and which I have been using to make all of my new blog posts. I love it! Jon's favorite present was.... everything I bought him... haha! And I can't pick just one favorite for Kira... she really seems to like everything too! Like father, like daughter! :)

I forgot to take photos of our outside lights, but next year I'll be sure to take pictures because we will be going all out! :)

Kira's 1st Christmas Eve

No dating allowed!

When I saw this onesie, I couldn't resist! It has Jon's motto for Kira: No dating until I'm 25! :)
Kira wore this to Maggie's 5th birthday. It is so hard to believe that she will be going to Kindergarten next year. Before Kira came along, Maggie was Jon's little lady and she will always have a special place in Jon's heart since he lived with her when she was a baby. They are too cute together! Happy Birthday Maggie!

Happy Thanksgiving!

Kira enjoyed her first Thanksgiving at the Tippets house. My parents joined us and a lot of fun (and food) was enjoyed by all!




















Jon carved the Thanksgiving turkey while Kira cuddles with Omi and shows off her sweater poncho. (Thank you Tot Swap!)




















Kira enjoyed Puffs, Cheerios, Sweet Potatoes, Applesauce, and Juice for Thanksgiving dinner. :) Next year when you have teeth, you can have the good stuff... next year!

Fall at Catoctin Mountain Orchard

One year ago, our last little road trip before the drive to the hospital was to Catoctin Mountain Orchard, so we knew we had to return one year later with Kira so that she could make her second (technically) appearance!

We had lots of fun looking at the produce and picking out jams and apple cider. Outside, we were in awe of the pumpkin pyramid and then explored the signs and wooden structures for kids on a path along the orchard.

We had a great time, and we can't wait to come back next year when Kira is walking and will want to pick out pumpkins and apples!

Happy Halloween!

Kira was supposed to be a ladybug for Halloween, but unfortunately her costume from Target did not arrive on time. It came a whole week late! Needless to say, I did not get around to actually snapping these pictures until a month later, but I will post them in October anyway! :) Here's the little lady!

The last costume photo was Kira having fun with some of her ladybug collection... Yes, I know it's hard to believe, but there's more. :) Also, while it's not really a costume, here are some of my favorite pictures of Kira in her angel PJs!
